Grow It Eat It- a new Master Gardener initiative to help more Marylander's grow more food.
This exciting new initiative has emerged (since November 2008) from the collective creativity and work of dozens of MG volunteers and MCE staff. It’s called “Grow it Eat it!” (GIEI) and it will address the growing need of Marylanders to learn how to start and maintain successful food gardens. This collaboration between the Maryland Master Gardener program and the Home and garden Information Center has gotten off to a fast start and is being propelled by the deep recession, and the public desire for locally grown food and a connection to the soil.
