9. Highlights from past year:
*Conducted a Spring Garden Seminar which had 26 participants from the community learning about what to do in the garden for spring; choosing quality plants, composting, and Bay-Wise practices.
*Began participating in the local Twilight Farmer’s Market held once monthly.
*Provided plant selection and planting expertise for the Caitlin Dunbar Nature Center being developed at the Conowingo Girl Scout Camp.
*Appeared on a local radio show (WAMD 97 AM) six times. Topics discussed were rainfall amounts, Bug of the Week, Invader of the Month, tips from HGIC calendar and upcoming Master Gardener events in Harford County.
*The Bay-Wise Program made great strides in certifying more properties and began getting involved with the county school system.
*Total number of contacts made during 2006 (all events)= 2519, this does not include contacts made at 3 teacher inservice presentations.
