Training Subcommittee

Master Gardener Training Planning Group

The MG State Strategic Plan has a goal to require minimum standardized MG Core competency statewide. The objective would be to create specific learning objectives in core areas and make 50% of the basic training curriculum (goals and objectives) uniform statewide.

This committee has so far:

Worked to determine which parts of the basic curriculum should be standard, what the goals and objectives for each learning topic will be and what test questions should be come part of the standardized portion of the exam.

Helped to develop a new framework for the MG Handbook.

The committee is now working on:

the best way to deliver continuing and advanced training throughout the state.
on-line courses
policies about transferring MGs between states and counties
setting up Power Point training modules for each chapter of MG Handbook
